.... we started the month with a short break to visit friends ....
there is nothing better for me
then seeing dear friends that I haven't seen in quite some time
you know you have a great friendship
when you haven't been in each others company for years
but the moment you are together nothing has changed
.... to celebrate my Birthday ....
the big 40 has been past a few years ago
so I have stopped thinking of my birthdays
in terms of a year older
but I like to think of it as a year wiser
.... to explore new places & revisit some from our past ....
Mr Mc & I lived in Yorkshire for a few years many moons ago
and teen paperdoll was born here so this is a homecoming of-sorts for us
I'm always fascinated to see how places change dramatically
whilst others are frozen in time
.... to laugh ....
a day without laughing is a day wasted
and comical can be found everywhere
..... and to say goodbye again ....
time to pack up and head home
why oh why is it that time flies when your having fun
....good times always come to an end much to fast
****
.... but it's lovely to be back ....
especially coming home to beautiful spring flowers
all across the Highlands
the weather in the Highlands on the other hand....
well....
not to sure I call it spring
a friend once said to me only in Scotland can you have
hypothermia & sunburn all in one day
this April here is testimony to that
.... since coming home we have enjoyed ....
heavenly scones & crepes thanks to Mr Mc's
handiwork in the kitchen
devilishly good chocolate cake at a
newly discovered cafe not to far from us
and plenty of lattes
accompanying me on a few creative journeys
.... all in all..... a lovely month was had ....
I hope you all had a lovely April as well!
xoxo
I have to say that scone looks delicious- I could just eat one now, or that slice of chocolate cake!
ReplyDeleteLovely to hear you had such a good time with your friends, it's good to spend time with those that make you laugh.
Belated happy birthday wishes and here's to a fab May for all.
