Very Excited....

Remember this....
I shared the beginnings with you here
way back on a grey November day last year.
I had hoped to have this little project finished
to share with you by the end of that month.
However one thing led to another....
putting this way down on my priority list.

Now many.. many.. many.. lattes later
the finish line is finally in sight!
Yippeeeeeeee....

I'm very exited....

Weather permitting for photos,
I hope to share it with you later this week.

Famous last words....

Until then have a great week all!

My little Bambi....

Last week we celebrated a very special Birthday!

Teen paperdoll turned 18!
18
REALLY
She is an adult!?!
Not to sure how I feel about that?
Looking at her my little Bambi,
I wonder how we got here sOoOo fast.

My little girl has always been leaving a little sparkle
behind wherever she goes....

A little shy with a self-doubting nature,
she always radiates everywhere with her smile.
Going through life like the young Bambi
open minded & curious for the new.
She has been a bookworm from the first day she could hold a book.
My Bambi is a beautifully creative girl with a wonderful imagination.
Never afraid to be outside the mainstream
with a strong sense of fairness she is honest,
even when it isn't favorable to herself.
She has such a caring soul which will always make
her stand for the outsider & the underdog.

However the last 18 years have not been without their challenges....
....especially in the early teen years.
Nothing earth shattering but there have been tears....
....many many tears
....during those times I was the "oh SO uncool mother".
A label I have been wearing with pride!!
It is so easy to give into your child's every whim for a quiet life
....Oh sooooo easy....
however I have never seen myself as my children's
friend.... mate.... pal....
during there growing-up phase of life.
I'm a parent!
Therefore I have to do & say things,
sometimes make decisions that are in my childrens best interest
even if they don't see it that way at the time.
But I'm guessing with no plans by teen paperdoll for moving out
anytime soon, living with us isn't all that bad
and we are very happy to have her around for a little longer!

After 18 years of
mostly great....  happy.... very funny....
a few emotional and some sad moments
my little Bambi has blossomed....

into a wonderfully thoughtful, smart, well mannered
young woman with a great work ethic!
I'm so very proud of her!!!

My little Bambi

DON'T LET ANYONE
EVER DULL YOUR SPARKLE!

Chalkboard LoVe....

Oh I sOoOo
LoVe
chalkboards!!!
As you may have noticed over the past few months
from the new addition to my mantelpiece.
I always think of chalkboards as ....practically meets arty.
A beautiful cheap way of heaving ever changing art on the walls
....and it's no secret that I like a little change ever so often!
My new addition isn't all that new it has been hanging on my
dining-room wall but due to lack of dining room since the move
it just found itself a new home on my mantel.
I made this chalkboard from an old frame a few years back.
The frame was bought for a mere 4 Euros at a Flea-market,
adding a old piece of plywood painted with chalk paint
and a few of my much loved fabric roses
were glued onto the frame for a bit of whimsy.

Besides loving chalkboards I also have a real soft spot for
sayings.... pearls of wisdom.... motto's....
for me chalkboards & wise words are a match made in heaven!

I always play around with my ideas on paper first,
I have found it to be easier & a lot less messy that way.
Having a clear vision of a calligraphy design unfortunately
doesn't always mean it transfers as beautifully into reality.

Working with chalk just isn't as easy as it looks....
especially calligraphy.

Hot latte a must on my creative journeys
....wonderfully calming when things don't quite go to plan.

When failed the first time.... try and try again....
even after practicing on paper,
I still need quite a few attempts on the board itself
before I'm getting anywhere close to my "vision".
Maybe being a little to "erase happy" doesn't help,
often I regret my wipe as soon as I have done it....

that is the thing with chalk
it's easy to erase but sometimes it's just too easy.
Thankfully this time I reminded myself a couple of times....

....to stop and step back before reaching for the cloth,
it gave me a much better perspective on my work in progress.
Surprise....surprise....
my cloth wasn't used half as much this time.

You can never have too much Happy

Fairy lights make me very happy
LoVe these
pretty....
beautiful....
lovely....
 blush origami fairy lights!
Not sure if it's this time of year but
I keep thinking of cherry blossom looking at them!
I am seriously contemplating to buy a second set,
not that I need them at all but I'm sure I can find a use.

**** HAPPY ****
oh soooooo very Happy

Wishing you all a weekend filled with endless
HAPPY

XOXO
